Cayla Couture embodies strong, feminine beauty. We cater to the glamorous free spirit who would rather stand out than fit in.

Hi! I'm Aileen, owner and creator of Cayla Couture. I want to take you on the journey that is the founding and creation of the brand, back to where it all started.

Cayla Couture began with my sister, Catherine, and I creating handmade organza flowers and lace hairpieces for local brides in Cork, Ireland. Our family always referred to us as "Ca and Aila", so combining these two nick-names, Cayla Couture was born! After some years of selling in local bridal stores, Catherine started a family and became a Primary School Teacher, and I began the process of my move to the United States to be with my Husband.

As a surprise for Catherine's hen party, I handmade twenty-two mermaid crowns for her guests to wear for the evening activities. Even though they were made with foam, paper flowers and shells, everyone loved their new adornments and asked her where they could purchase more. Finding my new inspiration, I (greatly) improved the design of the crowns and started a new chapter of the Cayla Couture brand selling Mermaid Crowns.

Having moved to the United States shortly thereafter, I broadened my horizons to the store you see today. I fell in love with the eclectic and contemporary style I wish I had access to for my own wedding, so I decided to mould that into a contemporary collection of elegant, modern accessories that bride's can cherish forever.

Drawing inspiration from the breath-taking sunsets and the clear night sky of Arizona, Cayla Couture specialises in celestial head pieces for the unique and individual bride. I hope you love my little store as much as I do!

The Studio

Each product in this store is designed and handmade in the Cayla Couture Studio here in Tucson, Arizona. Every item is unique and individual, just like the women who wear them. Cayla Couture is essentially a girl in her studio, doing what she loves.

I work from my home studio here in Tucson, which you can see above. I custom-made my own desk-I couldn't find anything big enough to spread out my ideas and supplies, so I made it! It was important for me to have the space to begin a layout and create new product designs while still having space to work on existing orders. I try to reserve a corner spot for spontaneous photoshoots; the sunrise hits the window perfectly, creating that dreamy golden glow you see throughout the Cayla Couture listings. It doesn't last long though, I need to move quickly! Hence the permanent set-up of selenite that was mined directly from Sedona, Arizona and the dried roses my nephew sent all the way from Ireland. I like to keep love and life in my creative space!

Products from the permanent collection are always visible around me as I work. This helps to keep me inspired and motivated to continue creating and innovating new products, while still keeping the vibe of what I started the brand with. I never have a huge inventory of product-I don't ever want the product you're wearing on the biggest day of your life to just be "one from the pile". I scrutinise every halo and crown before I ship them to you and quality check absolutely everything before it leaves the studio. I make sure every hairband is made with love and care, if it's coming from my hands then it has to be perfectly symmetrical and balanced(I'm a Libra, it's a necessity). If I'm lucky enough to have my dream studio and store, you can be sure that I'm going to make the best products that my hands can make!

The Team

Well...it's just me! Designer, creator, photographer, social media manager, accountant, packaging, CEO. From conceptualising the product to you seeing it online and it showing up at your doorstep, it will be me the whole way. If you have any questions or issues, it will be me that answers your message, quality checks your product and sends it to you with love.
